The first presentation explained the concepts of Reactive Heritage Digital Twins (RHDTs) and ontologies, the Knowledge Base  and how Artificial Intelligence can be used to speed up curation activities, improve prediction of events (e.g. crowd management, weather) and to answer research questions. Next, an overview of the ARTEMIS Cloud provided an insight into the technologies being used. There are two parts, the Service and the Data infrastructures. The 109 services consist of  IoCT, Simulation and AR/VR services. The approach used by ARTEMIS is one of Conformance Classes (single, dual and triple category) to enable progressive and flexible adoption by applications.

The 14 Pilots are grouped according to the four ARTEMIS objectives:

Some pilots cover more than one of these groups and each one addresses one of more risks that Cultural Heritage faces such as climate impact, over-visitation and conservation decisions under uncertainty. The CH assets range from movable heritage and museum collections, archaeological sites through to cultural landscapes and rural settlements and involve a diverse range of stakeholders and professionals. This presentation concluded with a demonstration of a VR tool being developed by the project which enables the annotation of 3D models and simulations such as crowds at urban events which can be used for planning and management purposes.

Training for ARTEMIS is being provided via the DARIAH-Campus, a well-established delivery channel. There is an iterative design process that uses testing and verification to evaluate and modify training outputs prior to deployment. To date, the core topics along with the key tools, services and thematic areas have been defined along with four key user groups. The ARTEMIS Learning Series which consist of a series of webinars has already launched and a Summer School will be held in Hog Germany later this year. Training events are also planned at partner organisations and the ARTEMIS Curriculum is being prepared for DARIAH-Campus.

Outreach and dissemination are required to build up the profile of ARTEMIS with the target user groups and to ensure its uptake as well as future growth and development. To achieve this, a combination of social media channels such as Bluesky, Instagram and YouTube with the News blog on the website and newsletter help spread the word. Organised events and the webinars are also an important part of outreach. The dissemination team were also pleased to announce the launch of a new video on 31st December, “From Vision to Action” to celebrate the ARTEMIS achievements after the first year.
