ARTEMIS organised a three day event in December hosted by the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage in Brussels. The 15th and 16th of December were devoted to the project members only, with the 17th involving EU representatives and a number of other projects with whom ARTEMIS is collaborating.
Starting with a Board Meeting on the morning of 15th December, the Plenary Session was held in the afternoon. The Plenary session was attended by over 90 people and started with an overview by Luca Pezzati, the Project Co-ordinator (see right), which covered the project achievements to date and the goals for 2026. Franco Niccolucci talked about the scientific achievements made and Julian Richards described how the cloud infrastructure is now up and running, what was learnt from this and the next challenges to be addressed.
Lucio Colizzi then presented the progress made with the design of the core services and the roadmap for their implementation. Moving on to the pilots, which are a key feature of ARTEMIS, Anestis Koutsoudis described how these were designed and set up to meet the ARTEMIS objectives and to cover all the different scenarios, involving organisations and professionals from across Europe.
In order to embed the ARTEMIS technologies and services, a comprehensive training plan is under development led by Elizabeth Königshofer. Following an in-depth User Needs survey, both training and capacity building will take place from 2026 onwards, starting with the HOF Summer School. Running in parallel with all these activities is the outreach and dissemination. Ginevra Niccolucci presented the preliminary results and plan for the upcoming year. Finally, the Co-ordination Office team presented the financial and resource status and outline the schedule for the next reporting period.
On Day 2, the 16th of December, two parallel sessions were held in the morning between the Work Package members involved in the technical developments and between those responsible for the training and dissemination activities. These sessions provide a unique opportunity for face-to-face meetings enabling common understanding to be established to align the tasks and required outcomes. The General Assembly was held in the afternoon where the feedback from the morning sessions was presented and discussed with a focus on aligning the technical work with the end user needs.
