ENCATC is the European Network on cultural management and policy which holds the status of an NGO in official partnership with UNESCO, of observer to the Steering Committee for Culture of the Council of Europe and is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.

It’s stated mission is to promote and advances the fields of cultural management and cultural policy education and research, connects stakeholders and ideas, and promotes an inclusive, sustainable, and democratic environment for the development of arts and culture. Over the last 30 years, ENCATC has developed a wide offering of activities, products, publications, projects, mobility schemes, many of which are aimed at researchers:

ENCATC Research Conference - Call for Abstracts Deadline (extended): April 30th

The ENCATC Research Conference will take place as part of the ENCATC Congress on Cultural Management and Policy, held this year in Barcelona from 15–17 September 2025.

Call for Outstanding Doctoral Work Deadline: May 19th

Applications are now open for the 12th edition of the ENCATC Research Award, which recognises a recently defended Doctoral/PhD thesis that demonstrates excellence, originality, and relevance in the fields of cultural policy, cultural management, or education.

ENCATC Research Platform Launch

The new ENCATC Research Platform will be launched on the April 30th, 14h00 – 15h00 (CET) with a talk on the ENCATC Book Series, featuring insights from Terry Clague (Routledge) on how to write a book publication and Carlotta Scioldo’s presentation of her recently published “European Networks and Cultural Governance”. Whether you’re early in your academic journey or an established scholar, this is a space to connect, reflect, and contribute to a more cohesive research community.
